LockBit Threatens To Release Data

The NY Bravest FCU has allegedly fallen victim to a cyberattack orchestrated by the notorious LockBit ransomware group. The threat actor has issued a message on its dark web channel, asserting the NY Bravest FCU cyberattack with a looming deadline of November 30, 2023, at 21:20:51 UTC, signaling the potential release of compromised data. 

The NY Bravest FCU cyberattack is purportedly linked to the Albany branch, with the LockBit ransomware group ominously declaring, “ALL AVAILABLE DATA WILL BE PUBLISHED!” This announcement surfaced on the dark web on November 20 at 21:22 UTC via the official leak site of the threat actor.

Acknowledging the severity of the situation, NY Bravest FCU promptly updated its website with a warning about fraudulent activities affecting various financial institutions. The credit union cautioned its members about the rise in deceptive text messages and phone calls impersonating banks or credit unions, emphasizing that they never solicit personal or account information through such means. 

The institution also reassured members that they would never send text messages containing clickable links. Doubtful recipients were urged to verify the authenticity of communications by directly contacting the credit union at 518-453-9748.

Despite these developments, the NY Bravest FCU has yet to issue an official statement or response regarding the alleged NY Bravest FCU cyberattack at the time of this writing. The absence of an official confirmation leaves the claims surrounding the NNY Bravest FCU cyberattack unverified.
